Build a knowledge platform, delivering innovative solutions to be applied into power systems. A strategic “triangle” shall be built, gathering Universities, R&D centers and Industrial partners.
Provide new tools, methodologies and processes, well-tuned to the shareholders needs. The outcomes of the R&D projects shall promote a more efficient power system operation and management.
The R&D projects should be “customer-oriented”, in order to boost high-level specialized services (e. g. consulting and training) to both internal (REN/SG) and external parties.
Collaborative partnerships shall be celebrated with international R&D institutions, to thrive a global technology network. This strategy must explore the opportunities and strong bonds existing in Europe, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique and China.
The R&D Center's works shall be pursued through three interdependent acting vectors:
Research, development, innovation and demonstration in the power transmission area;
Consulting services in the scope of R&D activities;
Education and training services.
